SUMMARY: In the LTBB Clinic, the Clinic Nurse position will provide support to the Psychiatric provider for part of the week and assist with other outpatient duties for the remainder of the week. Provide direct, professional nursing care to specified population of patients in an outpatient setting maximizing resources and maintaining optimal flow.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor of Science in Nursing and registered nurse license in Michigan with at least three years of nursing experience required. Primary Care work experience preferred. Experience working with Native American population is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES: Ability to implement and evaluate clinical services. Ability to work in stressful situations and conduct oneself in professional and empathetic manner at all times. Ability to communicate and work well with others. Knowledge of clinical operations procedures and standards of care. Ability to draw intravenous and peripheral blood. Skill in preparing and maintaining patient records utilizing the electronic health record. Dependable and independent self-starter. Ability to plan for and assist during emergency situations. Behave in a way that supports a positive team environment. Have proven record of reliability with positive work history with previous employers, including LTBB.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Must have and maintain registered nurse license in the State of Michigan.
COMMENTS: Indian preference will apply (Preference will be given to qualified Native American applicants in accordance with the LTBB Indian Preference Statute). Individuals must pass a thorough background investigation. Individual must take TB test and get influenza vaccination annually due to working in a health setting. LTBB Health Department is a scent free environment.
