CWIB Luncheon September 22, 2026

Join us for Connecting Women in Business luncheon on Tuesday, September 22, at North Central Michigan College Library Conference Room. Our speaker is Denneen Smith, Executive Director of Friendship Centers of Emmet County.  Here presentation title is: Safe, Active, and Connected: The Friendship Centers' Mission in Action.

Denneen will discuss how her organization advocated for the creation of a statewide Silver Alert system, following the disappearance of Emmet County resident David Moffett in September of 2023. The Silver Alert System was signed into law in July 2026.

She will also share information about the community-based programs and services Friendship Centers offer to help older adults stay active, independent, connected and help senior citizens thrive.

Registration and networking is from 11:30am to noon. At noon the lunch buffet will be ready. The program will begin around 12:20 and end by 1pm. Cost is $35 for CWIB members and $45 for all others.

The Lunch buffet will be herb roasted chicken breast, garlic mashed potatoes, wild rice pilaf, mixed greens with apples, dried cranberries, pecans & maple vinaigrette and dessert.
